Mercedes Benz Fashion Week SS in Sydney is pretty small compared to the Fashion Shows in Berlin, Paris or New York. However this was my luck i guess. Tickets were on sale and therefore no invitation needed to attend the shows. I decided to buy a ticket for a Trends Show on the 25th (25.08.2012), the last day of Fashion Week. The Runway Ticket cost 50$ which included nothing more than a seat right in front of the Runway. No Front Row, no Goody Bag, no nothing. Luckily me, a very handsome, fashion interested, Swiss guy, who got a VIP/All Access/Whatever Ticket, offered to get one of the Fashion Week Canvas Tote Bags. The Show itself was interesting but far off spectacular. The designs weren’t too much my cup of tee. Too much straight, flowery, normal styles. Too less edgyness, studs and leather. Nonetheless, attending the Trends Show was definitely better than just being able to see one Designer only.
Knowing that SS2012/2013 for the European and American World took place about a year ago made the whole experience kinda odd. Even more exciting was to see the audience and fashion addicted people enjoying the vibe of fashion. To be honest, knowing the latest European Fashion Trends the Outfits off the Runway were a little uninspiring and i definitely missed the edge and personality in many styles. Yet I spotted some amazing outfits.
